Mike krukow has made it official that he will be retiring at the end of the 2026 season. Giants fans have known this day would come but wanted to push it away as long as they could. Krukow originally joined the booth in 1990 and he will have called 37 seasons of giants games for the fans. Every giants fan knows how iconic the kruk and Kuip games sound especially with Jon Miller joining them from the radio booth from time to time.

Mike Krukow played for the Giants for 6 seasons in the 80s and immediately got on the call with Kuip. He called 3 no hitters, 1 perfect game, and 3 World Series championships for the team. He called amazing moments like Pablo Sandoval’s 3 home run World Series game, the amazing Joe Panic double play, and many, many more.
Krukow was diagnosed with inclusion body myotitis back in 2011,a progressive non fatal neuromuscular diesease that slowly affects a persons ability to move muscles in their body, and he went public with it in 2014. Since then he has had more limited time in the booth including never traveling out of California and rarely calling any away games, including LA dodger games.
Kruk has had some of the most memorable calls in Giants history and will always be up there in the ranks of the Vin Scully’s of the world, no one will ever be able to replace him.
Have a great time in retirement Kruk, have some good time with the family and friends, have good beach days, and do what you want to do best. We will miss you, you are like family to me. I listened to you almost every day of baseball season for my whole life. You will be missed in the booth.
